MHKDesigns Inspiration: Shawna

Hello Crafty Friends,

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing one of my favorite digi stamp sets from MHKDesigns, The Tulip of Thanks has to be one of the most elegant sets! Here is my card for today, enjoy.

Using color to create a sense of depth.
MHKDesigns
MHKDesigns vintage images work so well with each other.
I invite you to check out her Etsy store and see for yourself
the versatility of stamp sets and variety of digital papers she has to offer.

Enlarging the tulip becomes the dominate image and placing it in the foreground.
The tulip behind main image is lighter showing it to be in the background.
Left: showing detail of the detail this stamp provide. Notes the hints of gold for an even more elegant look.  Right: Showing the gold foiled sentiment yet the tulip still steals the show.

There is a lot more to discover at MHKDesigns Etsy Shop! Stop on over and see what we have to offer. I promise you will be inspired as our Design Team was inspired to create such beautiful cards. Keep stopping by to see more inspiration. Until then take care.
All the best,

MHK Designer Inspiration : SathyaSankaran

Hi Crafty Peeps,

This is Sathya with today's DT inspiration using 3 different digi stampsets.

The wild rose floral image from Easter blessings and Sentiment is from Birds and branches set are printed on to drawing cardstock (250 gsm). Then i colored them using Faber-castell bicolor pencils.

The butterflies (oh yeah, my all time fave) are from Butterfly wisdom set is printed, colored and fussy cut and mounted using foam adhesives.

Peach colored satin ribbon are added near sentiment with few peach pearls added as accents.

Simple coloring, minimal embellies ...matted the card panel on to black cardstock and then on the peach A2 cardbase to finish off the card.

Hope you like it!

More inspirations are there to follow from my Team members, so stay tuned and Dont forget to grab your favorite digi stampsets and Designer papers from MHK etsy shop. Do participate in the ongoing MHK challenge and stand for a chance to win these digis.

Designer Inspiration - NanaConnie

Today is my day to post some Designer Inspiration on the MHK Designs blog and I hope maybe this card will encourage you to see how much fun masculine vintage cards can be.   I love making masculine cards but combining that with vintage is wonderful.  This "Big Wheel" image from the "Wheely Like You" set was perfect for a card I'm giving to a lovely gent who recently got a promotion to upper level management.

I used neutral shades of brown and beige CS for the die cut mats and the rectangles, heat embossed a strip with gold EP, dry embossed the card front, and used a few wheel and gear embellies to emphasize both the masculine and vintage elements of the card.  I added a few dark brown pearls.

Although this set comes with some really great sentiments, I printed one of my own this time because I wanted it to be specific to the job promotion.  :-D

Don't forget that MHK Designs has a new challenge that started last Saturday and there's plenty of time for you to play along.  Check out the challenge post by clicking the "Current Challenge" tab up above and then come play along with us.

     Have a wonderful day!

Hello beautiful friends!

I'm here to share a card that I made using the stampset "Purr-fect".  I actually made it for the release month, but decided to hold off on sharing until now!

I just love this image - it prints off beautifully and all I had to do was watercolor a bit to add effect.  I printed off the Digital Paper - Seaside Papers, Distressed Shells Mint and used that as my background.  I inked up the edges to add dimension and texture.  I simple yellow ribbon tied in a bow finished off the card.

I hope you enjoy this card and are inspired to go out and create!

Until next time,

Jess

Designer Inspiration: Jerrie

Are you ready for some birthday fun?  It is a fact that Mynn just celebrated her birthday!  For her birthday I maed her a cyber card.  It  moves and is interactive.

I had a sticker sheet of birthday hats and paired it with the MHK Designs Eat Your Cake set.  Some swirls were punched and added.  Then, a box was made to hold all the fun goodies!  I used acetate to pop up the items so it looks like they are floating in the air.

This box folds down and fits in an A2 envelope for mailing.

You can find the Eat Your Cake set in the ETSY shop.  Hope you had a fun birthday Mynn!

Thanks for stopping in today and coments are always welcome!

MHK Designer Inspiration: Rocky

My inspiration this month is made using a butterfly image from Beginnings and Endings and a sentiment from Stitched Sunflower.
The backing paper has been made using the image placed at random across the page in Publisher, when printed I have used the draft function to get a faded look. Once cut to fit my card blank I have used Broken China Distress Ink to colour the edges so it matches the mat layer and the main image.
The main image is coloured with watercolour pens, spritzed with a pearl spray and then cut out. It is stuck flush to the card along it's body but has foam pads under it's wings so they stand up a little, with hand drawn antenna.
The sentiment has been cut out then had the corners rounded, this has also been inked to match the colour scheme. It is stuck on very thin foam pads. The mat layer is pearl paper which luckily matches the butterfly and the inking.
It's a very simple card but that's sometimes just what we need, relatively easy to make, with a simple but uplifting comment.
Come and join in our challenge, you don't have to use MHK Designs images but we would love it if you did. If you don't have any MHK Designs yet then this could be your chance to win some.
